Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med-Surg RN with at least two years of current experience and a NM or compact RN license for a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a General Medical Unit (GMU) within a hospital environment
• Care for diverse adult medical-surgical patients
• 12-hour day shifts from 06:50 to 18:50, three days per week
• Floating between departments and within local locations up to 20 miles is required
• EPIC EMR is used on site, training available
• Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, care coordination, and documentation
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as needed
• Pass/fail testing or modules may be required during orientation
• Must complete unit-specific education and competency requirements
• Collaborate closely with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Requirements

• Active New Mexico or compact state RN license required
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Minimum of two years current Med-Surg experience required
• At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• Previous permanent staff must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
• No local candidates within 50 miles are accepted
