Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in New York with a current NY license required and every other weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Position is on a 26-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a tertiary care hospital
• Patient population includes post-PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post-MI, and cardiac pharmacological intervention cases
• Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts (7:00 to 19:00) with every other weekend required
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
• Requires use of Epic EMR
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response responsibilities, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Float and call requirements are not specified
• Responsibilities include IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line management, and non-invasive airway/respiratory management
• Role requires familiarity with isolation precautions and rapid response/code protocols
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Allowed scrub colors are any combination of navy and white

Requirements

• Active NY RN license in hand required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live more than 75 miles from facility for consideration
