Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg role in an acute Level 1 trauma setting, requiring EPIC experience and flexibility with day/night rotations.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 32-bed inpatient medical-surgical unit caring for adult med/surg and behavioral health patients
• Work in an acute hospital environment with a Level 1 trauma designation
• Patients include a mix of medical, surgical, and some behavioral admissions
• Uses telemetry, Philips monitors, bladder scanner, Acuvein, Omnicell, and private rooms designed for safe patient mobility
• EMR is EPIC and experience is required
• 12-hour rotating day/night shifts with a requirement to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays
• Self-scheduling available but unit needs may require shift adjustments
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Floating to all med/surg units across three campuses in Fargo may be required
• Provide nursing care within the full scope of RN practice, including collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Must badge in and out at the facility for every shift
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Behavioral health admissions may be part of the patient caseload
• Efforts are made to avoid frequent switching between day and night shifts in scheduling
• RTO (requested time off) honored as much as possible; trades with other staff may be needed to ensure schedule balance
• Local travel pay rate applies for candidates residing 60 to 80 miles from the facility
• Holiday coverage is required as scheduled

Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification from AHA is required
• Minimum 1 year of recent med/surg experience in a large hospital (250+ beds)
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Previous experience using EPIC EMR is required
• Must not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• All prior employment with Sanford Health must have ended at least 6 months before consideration
