Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Transitional Care Unit long-term care position requiring TN or compact licensure and travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Transitional Care Unit within a long-term care setting
• Patient ratio is 1:8-10
• Floating to alternate units required as per hospital policies and clinical experience
• Day shift schedule is 3x12 hours, 7:00 to 19:30
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend or two weekends per month
• Uses Cerner EMR, with experience preferred but not required
• Responsibilities include providing patient care, completing charting, and floating as needed to similar units
• No blocked scheduling or major holiday RTO allowed; holiday RTO requests must be addressed onsite using the RTO form
• RTO cannot occur within 14 days of the start date and may not exceed 7 days
• Cannot return to the same campus as permanent staff within the last 24 months; other campuses within the system allow return after 12 months
• Travelers who are related or married cannot work on the same unit
• Orientation includes required online modules completed during assignment and annually
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position due to required travel experience
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license in hand prior to consideration
• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Travel nursing experience required for all specialties
• Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of assignment start
