Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Rehab position in an acute setting, requiring an IL RN license and strong cardiac care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiac Rehab unit of an acute care hospital
• Care for both inpatient (Phase 1) and outpatient (Phase 2) cardiac rehab patients
• Patient population includes cardiac cases such as chest pain, STEMI, Post-PCI, Post-CABG, TAVR, and CHF
• Outpatient Phase 2 patients typically attend therapy three times per week for twelve weeks
• Perform EKG monitoring, vital sign checks, and patient education during sessions
• 10-hour day shifts with hours from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, primarily four days per week
• Some flexibility exists for eight-hour shifts as needed
• Utilizes Allscripts EMR system
• Role focuses on cardiac rehab therapy, patient education, and ongoing care plan development
• Daily duties include monitoring EKGs, assisting with exercise equipment, and collaborating with providers
• Follow-up communication with patients and ordering providers is required outside of direct patient care times
• Facility maintains AACVPR certification and upholds high standards in cardiac rehabilitation
• A minimum of two qualified staff, including an RN, must be present during full gym days
• No BSN required for consideration

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Experience monitoring EKG rhythms and caring for post-procedure cardiac patients
