Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with an active DC RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for a 13-week assignment in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital operating room environment
• Responsibilities include both scrubbing and circulating during operative procedures
• Assignment length is 13 weeks with 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
• Care provided for a variety of surgical patients
• Expected to assemble and verify equipment and supplies before procedures
• Nurse is responsible for adhering to aseptic techniques and standards
• Duties include preparing the OR, ensuring proper equipment function, and maintaining supply readiness
• Collaborates with surgical team to assess, plan, and implement intraoperative care plans
• Acts as a liaison for patients, families, and the surgical team
• Travelers must live at least 25 miles from the hospital
• BSN is highly desired but not required
• Facility adheres to strict documentation requirements for certification copies

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required at time of consideration; no pending licenses allowed
• Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• Minimum 3 years of operating room RN experience required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• At least 2 years of recent experience in a US hospital in the specialty required
• CPI certification mandated for this position
• Two professional references preferred, with at least one from a recent employer
• Candidate must have a valid US Social Security Number
