Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring Epic EMR proficiency and Level 1 trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg unit
• Night shifts from 7:00PM to 7:30AM, three days per week
• No on-call requirement
• Patient care environment utilizes Epic EMR
• Serves a Level 1 trauma patient population
• Responsible for patient assessments, planning and implementing care, administering medications, and ensuring patient safety according to unit protocols
• Participates in bedside shift reports and provides patient education as needed
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary care teams
• RTO (time off) not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break or conversion to permanent staff
• Travelers must provide a 30-day advance notice if canceling assignment
• Team members are expected to maintain a positive and collaborative environment

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or temporary license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association required
• Minimum of one year recent relevant Med/Surg RN experience
• Experience with Epic charting required and must be noted in application materials
• Documented Level 1 trauma experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local applicants not accepted
