Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of experience, ARRT certification, and strong mobile x-ray and c-arm skills for an acute care orthopedic and urgent care hospital.
Responsibilities
- Work in an orthopedic and sports medicine acute care hospital with an urgent care center
- Perform diagnostic imaging for outpatients, inpatients, urgent care, operating room and PACU
- Duties include c-arm scans in the OR, scans for urgent care, and mobile x-rays
- Use GE mobile units, OEC, Phillips, and Siemens c-arms, Carestream Ascend, and other advanced equipment
- Chart using Epic Radiant and Sectra PACS
- Shifts include 8-hour weekdays with varying start times, evenings (12 PM – 8:30 PM) as needed, and weekends
- Weekend and holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
- Call required: weekdays 5 PM–7 AM, weekends 24 hours, approximately every 3rd or 4th weekend
- Will float to ortho clinic, primarily ortho urgent care
- Staff work independently after 5 PM on weekdays and on weekend shifts, with support available as needed
- Perform diagnostic imaging exams on a broad patient base including operating room and urgent care patients
- Responsible for operating a range of imaging equipment and following provider protocols
- Deliver patient care and education throughout the imaging process
- Staff must remain on site until last urgent care patient is seen for each shift
- Hospital-issued blue surgical scrubs required on weekdays; grey scrubs permitted in pain clinic and on weekends
- Two days of facility orientation provided, followed by tailored training with a preceptor and competency checklist
- Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted with a pay adjustment
- Candidates previously employed at this hospital must have terminated employment at least 6 months prior to consideration
- All staff badge in and out at the facility as part of security protocol
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent radiology technologist experience
- Active ARRT (R) certification in good standing
- Active ND state license (NDMIRT) or willingness to obtain upon offer; license required if applicable
- BLS certification from AHA
- Experience with GE mobile units, OR and PACU mobile x-ray, and a variety of c-arms including OEC, Phillips, and Siemens
- Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred
- Ability to ensure accurate patient positioning and implement radiation safety practices
