Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Observation Unit night shift position requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the T6 Medical Observation Unit within a hospital
• Patient population includes observation-level medical cases with telemetry
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Responsible for assessing IV sites every 4 hours and starting new IVs as per policy
• Maintain documentation standards and pass quarterly chart audits
• Must attend at least five out of six staff meetings per year
• Expected to identify and respond to patient status changes appropriately
• Maximum of 7 requested days off allowed per 13-week contract
• Travel partner requests are not accepted
• Returning contingent workers may not serve more than one consecutive year and require a 6-month break before returning

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or temporary license in good standing
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) required, BSN preferred
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma setting and with Epic charting required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals)
