Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a night shift RN with at least one year of recent MS/Tele experience and a MO or compact license for a Med/Surg Tele position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit with intermediate level of care
• Patient population includes stroke, heart failure, respiratory and renal failure, post-surgical cases, and various acute conditions
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• 30 patient rooms with a daily census around 30
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 18:45 to 07:15
• Eight weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
• Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Epic EMR system is used
• Responsible for care of patients with a wide variety of acute and complex medical conditions including cardiac events, neurological issues, and respiratory compromise
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required per unit needs
• No on-call responsibility for this position
• First-time travelers are welcomed
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off permitted
• Completion of pre-employment modules and drug screening required
• No travel partners accepted for this assignment

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum 1 year of recent MS/Tele hospital experience required, 2 years preferred
• Must have at least one full year of in-specialty experience within the last 12 months with no employment gap over 90 days
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Skills in telemetry, cardiac monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, heparin protocols, post neurosurgery, wound care, central and peripheral IV access, and emergency response
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Two professional references from the past year, including one from a supervisor
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles away from the facility and locals are not accepted
• No pending licensure accepted
