Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a PCU RN with at least two years of recent progressive care/telemetry experience, a NM or compact state license, and BCA test proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in a progressive care/telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Care for an 18-plus bed patient population requiring telemetry monitoring
- 12-hour night shifts, working three shifts per week
- Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required
- Uses Epic EMR, with prior Epic experience preferred
- RNs must provide direct patient care using the nursing process and coordinate care with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Responsible for clinical supervision of LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required based on unit needs
- Return travelers must have at least a one-year gap since last permanent employment at the facility
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required
- Minimum two years of recent experience in an 18-plus bed telemetry or progressive care unit
- Successful completion of at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
- BLS and ACLS certifications completed through AHA, American Health and Safety, or Red Cross
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an ADN or ASN
- Must pass onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during orientation, with one retest allowed if necessary
- No previous permanent employees within the past one year
