Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced SICU RN with a current DC RN license and ICU certification requirements for a night shift position in a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of an acute care, Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:30-08:00)
- Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
- Floating may be required within scope to meet facility needs
- EMR: Cerner Sorian 1st Generation
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Primary responsibilities include caring for critically ill surgical patients in a high-acuity environment
- Team-oriented unit with support in a teaching hospital setting
- Holiday and weekend rotations are required
- One request for time off (RTO) allowed
- Local candidates are accepted
- Parking is available at an additional cost, and the facility is accessible via public transportation
Requirements
- Active DC RN license in hand required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience; manager prefers 4 years
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- First-time travelers accepted
