Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced SICU RN with a current DC RN license and ICU certification requirements for a night shift position in a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of an acute care, Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:30-08:00)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
• Floating may be required within scope to meet facility needs
• EMR: Cerner Sorian 1st Generation
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Primary responsibilities include caring for critically ill surgical patients in a high-acuity environment
• Team-oriented unit with support in a teaching hospital setting
• Holiday and weekend rotations are required
• One request for time off (RTO) allowed
• Local candidates are accepted
• Parking is available at an additional cost, and the facility is accessible via public transportation

Requirements

• Active DC RN license in hand required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience; manager prefers 4 years
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• First-time travelers accepted
