Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a surgical ICU position with 2 years recent surgical ICU experience and BLS certification required.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 20-bed adult surgical ICU within the Department of Surgery
- Care for post-surgical ICU patients, including trauma, GI surgery, orthopedic/neuro spine, transplant, vascular, surgical ENT, and general surgery cases
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Floating required to areas with similar skill set as needed
- EPIC EMR used; prior experience preferred
- Provide complex nursing care to a diverse population of surgical and trauma patients
- Orientation starts on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate, except for specific exclusions
- Must be prepared to work with a multidisciplinary surgical and critical care team
Requirements
- Active RN license in MD or compact state
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years recent, strong surgical ICU experience
- Experience in facilities with 500+ beds required
- Critical Care Certification, trauma course, EPIC, ACLS, and prior travel assignments preferred
