Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with BLS and ACLS certifications for a Med/Surg Tele and Renal unit, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a valid OH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 28-bed Med/Surg Tele and Renal unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes telemetry and renal patients, some with trach, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen requirements
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 with two techs per shift
• Nurses expected to read and interpret telemetry every 4 hours using EPIC
• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
• Dysrhythmia exam required, with study guide provided
• Drips managed include Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin
• Phlebotomy staff available for peripheral blood draws
• Charge nurses are out of ratio on days and in ratio on nights
• This position does not accept local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Holiday coverage is required as part of the rotating schedule
• Study materials are available for on-site testing requirements

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Previous Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Must pass EKG/Dysrhythmia testing within two attempts
• Preferred experience with CAPD (Peritoneal Dialysis) and EPIC EMR
