Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department with a Level 1 Trauma designation
• Day shift from 7:00AM to 7:30PM with a required two-week nights rotation during the contract
• Two 13-hour call shifts per six-week scheduling period with a one-hour onsite response expectation
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience is required
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops evidence-based care plans in collaboration with providers and families
• Implements and regularly updates patient care interventions based on ongoing evaluation
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient care
• Engages in effective communication and collaboration with staff, patients, and visitors to promote a positive environment
• Holds responsibility for patient and staff safety through adherence to nursing standards and reporting of safety hazards
• Provides constructive feedback to peers and supports their professional development
• May not return to assignment within the system without a six-month break after one year of continuous employment
• RTO (Requested Time Off) cannot exceed 7 total days for a 13-week contract
• No travel partner accommodations are available for this assignment

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary license accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
• Documented Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
