Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital
• Staffing ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 for labor and 1:3 for couplets
• Shifts are 12-hour days or nights with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required only within the division and not to med/surg units
• Uses Pyxis, Epic (experience required), and SBAR communication systems
• Scrubs in any color are permitted
• Directly care for laboring patients and their newborns in a team environment
• Coverage for holidays may be required per hospital policy
• Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted but at a lower pay rate
• Applicants may float only within division-specific specialty units
• Background and license checks required prior to employment
• Orientation to unit systems and equipment provided

Requirements

• Active NH or compact state RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience is mandatory
• Current BLS and NRP certifications from AHA or Red Cross required
• Epic EMR experience required
• No consideration for first-time travelers unless they have 2-5 years of prior L&D experience
• References required for consideration (may start with one pending a second)
• Applicants must not have been a previous employee at any SolutionHealth facility
