Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 5 years of acute OR experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital-based Operating Room with 12 OR suites
• Work schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• On-call required until 11:00 PM for one night per week and every 3rd to 4th weekend
• No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
• Level 3 trauma center environment
• Uses Epic charting system
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Duties include circulating and scrubbing for a variety of surgical specialties in a busy OR
• All required compliance modules must be completed prior to start
• Block scheduling may be considered with manager approval based on unit needs
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June to November)
• Requests for time off must be submitted with application and are subject to approval based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active SC or multi-state compact RN license
• Minimum of 5 years of acute care OR experience across general, neuro, ortho, ENT, and GYN specialties
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Radiation badge is required and must be provided by the traveler
• Must provide SSN and driver's license for consideration
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• First-time travelers accepted if they possess broad OR specialty competency
• Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility; local travelers are not accepted
• Previous staff (including PRN) must have separated from this health system for at least 1 year prior to applying
