Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Unit position requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital-based Telemetry Unit with 36 private rooms
  • Serve patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics with a focus on cardiac care and post-intervention recovery
  • Typical patient ratio is 1:6
  • Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Care for cardiac patients post-surgery, after coronary artery stent placement, pacemaker implants, and stable non-procedural cardiac cases
  • No travel pairs or groups will be accepted
  • A maximum of 3 days RTO will be auto-approved and no time off is permitted during the first week of orientation

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience with previous travel assignment required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Cannot reside in specified local counties or within 50 miles of the facility
  • Former permanent staff must be gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
