Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position in Michigan requiring experience with post-op open heart patients and specialized cardiac equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Cardiovascular ICU setting
• Care for post-operative open heart patients
• Manage patients with Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) devices
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Required to work every other weekend
• At least one holiday shift is required during the assignment
• No on-call responsibilities
• Possible floating to a nearby sister hospital
• Responsible for coordinating and delivering quality patient care, implementing nursing process, and communicating effectively with families and health care teams
• Completion and passing of online modules onsite prior to start is required
• No blocked scheduling is permitted
• May request up to 1 week of RTO; additional time off requests after start require manager approval
• Professional attire with specified scrub or dress code will be required
• Background check and drug screening must be completed with specified vendor at least two weeks prior to start
• First time travelers are accepted

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with post-op open heart care, Impella, and IABP required
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required
• COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory
