Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with an active IL license, strong scrub and circulate skills, and recent Level 1 trauma experience.

Responsibilities

Hospital-based Operating Room unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center
Manages adult and pediatric surgical cases including ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery
Preferred exposure to neurosurgery, open heart/thoracic, ophthalmology, ENT, bariatric, and gynecology cases
Day shifts of five 8-hour shifts per week, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
Works every other weekend (two weekends per month)
On-call required one 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday, either 7 am-7 pm or 7 pm-7 am
Mandatory floating to other units and facilities within 50 miles as needed
Uses Cerner EMR system
Navy blue scrubs are provided by the facility
Must be flexible and willing to float to any Cook County facility within 50 miles, possibly with short notice
Strict limit of 5 days RTO with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO allowed on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday
Compliance with all onboarding and lab requirements is expected within 72 hours of offer acceptance
Candidates living within a 75-mile radius are eligible

Requirements

Active IL RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses)
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Operating Room experience required
Level 1 trauma experience required
Proficient in both scrub and circulate roles
Experience in ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery required
Epic EMR experience preferred
Must meet COVID-19 vaccination requirements
