Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with an active IL license and Level 1 trauma experience for a day shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Patient cases include Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
• Day shift schedule with 5x8 hour shifts, 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM
• Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
• One 12-hour call shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; no weekday call
• Mandatory float facility; may float within facility and to other facilities within 50 miles as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR system; experience preferred
• Navy blue scrubs are provided
• May work with a variety of surgical cases across specialties
• Strict compliance is required, and all lab work must be completed within 72 hours after offer acceptance
• Must adhere to facility’s time off policy: maximum of 5 days RTO, with no more than 2 consecutive days, no weekend or holiday RTO, and none the day before or after a holiday
• First time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are preferred and must live within 75 miles
• Team-based model may be used if floated outside primary competency

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years recent acute care Operating Room experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Strong scrub and circulate skills required
• Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required
• BLS certification required
• Preferred additional experience in Neurosurgery (crani and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric and Gynecology
• Must provide proof of COVID vaccination
