Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a float pool position in Massachusetts requiring cardiac monitoring and willingness to float to multiple units.

Responsibilities

• Work in a float pool covering up to 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital
• Care for patients including ED border patients, medication nurse in acute mental health, and non-vented transfer-ready ICU patients
• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours
• Clinician-to-patient ratios are up to 5:1 on days/evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
• Utilize Epic EMR system
• Required to rotate between day, evening, and night shifts with every other weekend coverage
• Must be willing to float between 8 designated units as assigned
• Free on-site parking available
• Units range from 8 to 41 beds with a total hospital bed count of 371
• Local candidates must live at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, with adjusted pay rates
• Must provide proof of MA licensure at time of consideration and two professional references

Requirements

• Active MA RN license is required; conditional or pending licenses are not accepted
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications are required
• Two years of acute care hospital experience is preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, reading and interpreting tele strips, and TR Band
• Primary source verification of professional license required
• Flu vaccine required with no medical or religious exemptions allowed
