Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU day shift position requiring SC or compact RN license, with ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) within an acute care hospital
• Day shift position, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Adults and geriatric patient population
• Epic EMR is used; experience preferred
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Floating to similar units expected with priority given to agency staff
• Responsibilities include care of critically ill adults and geriatric patients with complex conditions
• Expected to manage cardiac drips, ventilators, arterial lines, and other advanced ICU interventions
• Must work as part of an interdisciplinary ICU care team
• Emergency response involvement may be required during hurricane season (June–November)
• All planned time off must be submitted for consideration at the time of application
• Annual flu vaccination required unless exemption is approved

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required prior to start
• Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Minimum 1 year recent MICU experience required (2 years preferred)
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Travel RN experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Must live more than 60 miles from facility (locals not accepted)
• Must provide required documents, including SSN and driver's license
• Former permanent or PRN staff must have at least a 1-year separation from the health system
