Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring an active OH or compact RN license and recent stepdown experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Stepdown unit
• Assignment is 13 weeks with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week
• Rotating day and night shifts (7a-7:30p or 7p-7:30a); shifts may be variable based on hospital needs
• Care for progressive care/stepdown level patients
• Every other holiday coverage is required
• Orientation includes tests on ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate with two attempts allowed
• Negative drug screening required prior to start
• Candidates with open background check cases or any license hits will not be considered
• Badging and fingerprinting must be completed onsite prior to start date
• Annual education modules are required and must be completed via Silkroad
• Scrub dress code as specified by the facility
• Permanent and per diem candidates may not return to facility for one year after assignment end
• Travelers are limited to assignments of 18 consecutive months at any facility location, with a six-month break required before returning
• First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements

• Active OH or compact state RN license in hand
• A minimum of 18 months of permanent experience in stepdown nursing
• Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience preferred but not required
