Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring 18 months of recent experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital stepdown unit
• Patient population includes those requiring intermediate care between ICU and general med-surg
• Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts (7am-7:30pm/7pm-7:30am) with potential for variable scheduling based on hospital needs
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Must be able to work at least every other holiday
• Responsibilities include providing patient care for those transitioning from intensive to med-surg care
• Orientation includes clinical assessments to ensure competency
• Assignments at any Cleveland Clinic location may not exceed 18 consecutive months, with a 6-month break required before returning
• Holidays are covered on a rotating basis as assigned
• First time travelers are accepted

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum 18 months of recent stepdown or progressive care unit experience required
• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation
