Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN First Assist (RNFA) with cardiac and vascular expertise for a day shift travel contract requiring GA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in an operating room setting with RN First Assist responsibilities
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 6:30 to 19:00
- Call required 1 day per week and 1 weekend approximately every four weeks, subject to departmental needs
- Floating within facility and scope of practice, including to Main OR as needed
- Care for cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic surgical patients
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- Perm and per diem staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for 1 full year to return as a traveler
- Return travelers previously unable to return must complete a successful assignment at a non-Piedmont facility before rebooking
- No blocked scheduling or travel pairs on same unit/shift allowed
- Holiday coverage required based on the number of holidays during the contract
- No holiday requested time off or RTO allowed; maximum 7 days RTO during assignment and none in the first week
- Full compliance required for on-time assignment start; non-compliance may delay orientation
- Locals accepted at the same rate
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- CSFA, NBSTSA, or NCCSA certification required
- Minimum of 5 years related OR experience preferred, will consider 3 years for strong candidates
- Cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic surgical experience required
- Must complete a privileging process prior to start (approximately 3 months)
- Two supervisory references required for consideration
- Clinical screening and approval required
