Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Skilled Nursing and Rehab position in Illinois, requiring an IL RN license and IV certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in Skilled Nursing and Rehab units in a long-term care facility
• Patient population includes dementia and surgical rehab residents
• Direct patient care for up to 20 residents with an average daily census of 72
• Shift is 3x12 hour days (6:30–19:00) with every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses PowerChart for EMR documentation
• Provide primary nursing care, including IV medications and wound care, to residents
• Work closely with CNAs/HCAs as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Use lifting equipment as part of daily activities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs required in any shade of blue
• No more than 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract; no time off allowed during the first week of orientation
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may stay for up to 18 months then are required to take a 3-month break
• Holiday time off is limited; not all holidays can be taken off
• Free parking available on site

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand required for consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a skilled nursing or acute care setting
• IV Certification, BLS, and ACLS required prior to start
• Dementia training or experience highly recommended
• Experience with rehabilitation and Med/Surg nursing preferred
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility location
