Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (7am-7:30pm or 7pm-7:30am), may be variable to meet operational needs
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Requires working at least every other holiday
• Use of ECG rhythm recognition and Med/Surg Telemetry patient monitoring
• Responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care for adult Med/Surg Telemetry patient populations
• Modules must be completed pre-start and annually; up to 4 hours billable for annual modules if on contract for a continuous year
• Badge and onsite fingerprints must be completed at the facility prior to start date
• First-time travelers are eligible
• Locals are accepted at the same bill rate
• Nurses and CSTs are temporarily exempt from nicotine-free policy
• Permanent and per diem candidates are not eligible to return to the facility within one year of their previous end date
• Assignments at any Cleveland Clinic location are capped at 18 consecutive months with a minimum 6-month break required before returning

Requirements

• Active permanent OH or compact RN license is required and must be in hand
• Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• At least 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments required
• Certifications required: AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (all active and not pending)
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation is required, with two attempts allowed
• Must pass BCI/FBI fingerprinting and background check
• No open background cases or license hits allowed
