Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position requiring a MA RN license and strong telemetry and cardiac skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based float pool covering 5 different Med/Surg and Telemetry units
- Level 1 Trauma hospital environment
- Patient population includes Med/Surg and cardiac telemetry cases
- 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Use of Meditech for IVs and Epic for electronic charting
- Floating to various units as required
- Must be able to adapt quickly to different units and patient populations
- Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test A or B is required, with a maximum of two attempts
- Most Fridays will be required and specific schedule requests cannot be accommodated
- No extended time off will be approved during the contract
- Monthly parking fees may apply
- Professional references cannot be from another traveler
- Preferred reference from last travel assignment
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience with cardiac and telemetry nursing
- Ability to independently read telemetry strips and pass an on-site exam (84% or better, up to 2 attempts) on Day 1
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma hospital experience required
- Preferred 3-5 years of previous float experience
- Two professional references required, one must be managerial and include a performance evaluation
