Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a dayshift Post Acute Long Term Care position requiring a ME or compact RN license and at least two years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a post-acute setting with long-term care and skilled nursing facility units
• Units include a specialized Alzheimer's/dementia unit, a 42-bed transitional rehabilitation unit, and a 42-bed general long-term care unit
• Patient populations include residents with Alzheimer's/dementia, individuals requiring short-term rehabilitation after surgery or injury, and long-term care residents
• Nursing services may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management
• Day shifts are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
• Flexibility to float to other units as needed is required
• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to diverse resident populations
• Tailor communication and care strategies to the unique needs of Alzheimer's/dementia residents
• Participate as part of a collaborative care team in a home-like environment
• Role may involve coverage to support 24/7 operations as needed
• Local travelers are accepted at a reduced pay rate

Requirements

• Active RN license in ME or a compact state
• Associate degree in Nursing required
• Minimum of two years prior RN experience in a similar setting
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required
• Experience caring for Alzheimer's/dementia residents preferred
• Previous employment with the facility is not accepted
• Candidates with licensure issues will not be considered
