Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with an active IL license and Level 1 Trauma Center expertise.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Operating Room at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Work scheduled as 5x8 hour day shifts from 10:00 to 18:30
• Every other weekend required, totaling two weekends per month
• One 12-hour call shift per month, on Saturday or Sunday (7A-7P or 7P-7A), no weekday call
• Mandatory floating to other units or Cook facilities within 50 miles as needed
• Patient population includes ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery cases
• Cerner EMR is used
• Navy blue scrubs are provided
• Team-based model used if floated outside of primary competency
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• No holiday RTO will be approved, and no RTO is granted the day before or after a holiday
• Maximum 5 days RTO allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends
• First time travelers will be considered

Requirements

• Active IL RN license is required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• At least 2 years of recent acute care Operating Room experience required
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• Strong scrub and circulate skills required
• Experience with ortho, ortho trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery required
• Preferred experience in neurosurgery (crani and spine), open heart/thoracic, ophthalmology, ENT, bariatric, and gynecology
• Proof of COVID vaccination required; booster not required
• Candidates must live within 75 miles of the facility
