Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for night shifts in a Level 1 Trauma setting, requiring an active IL license and strong scrub and circulate skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in the hospital Operating Room
• Level 1 Trauma Center with a focus on Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery cases
• Preferred experience with Neurosurgery, Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology procedures
• Scheduled for 5x8 hour night shifts, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Call requirement is one 10-hour shift per month on a weekend, either 7 AM-7 PM or 7 PM-7 AM
• Weekend work required every other weekend
• Mandatory floating within scope to other units or facilities as needed, including notification up to 2 hours before shift and potentially up to 50 miles away
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Navy blue scrubs are required and will be provided
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed with no more than 2 consecutive days; no holiday or weekend RTO permitted
• Lab work for compliance must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer
• If floated outside of primary competency, a team-based model will be utilized
• Failure to comply with floating requirements may result in contract cancellation

Requirements

• Current and active Illinois RN license, no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required
• BLS certification required
• Strong scrub and circulate skills
• Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required
• Must be able to provide proof of COVID vaccination
• Local candidates preferred, must reside within 75 miles of the facility
