Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical/Transplant Specialty position on the night shift requiring at least one year of recent acute care experience and a current OK or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting specializing in surgical and transplant patient care
• Unit assignment is Surgical/Transplant
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Care provided to patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Patient assignment according to unit needs
• No local candidates permitted; a 50-mile radius rule applies
• Provide direct patient care, administer medications, and monitor physiological data
• Assist physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments
• Coordinate discharge planning and educate patients and families
• Delegation of tasks to support staff as needed
• Must comply with dress code and participate in interdisciplinary care planning
• Candidates may only extend one time for a total of 26 weeks, with a mandatory six-month separation before reapplying
• NIHSS certification is preferred but not required
• Orientation provided to familiarize with unit policies and procedures

Requirements

• Active RN license in OK or compact state (eNLC) required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN or higher preferred
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum of one year of recent acute care nursing experience required
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory and practices
• Basic computer skills required
• Excellent communication skills and ability to respond to diverse cultural and language needs
