Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position caring for adults and geriatrics with acute conditions and post-procedure monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with conditions including CHF, infection, cardiac Cath, pacemaker placement, pneumonia, stroke, TIA, seizures, and UTI
• Provide post care for pacemaker and cardiac catheterization procedures, as well as thoracentesis and chest tube management
• Manage some cardiac drips, heparin drips, and perform peritoneal dialysis
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00pm - 7:00am)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Perform monitoring and management of cardiac and medical-surgical patients post-procedure
• Work with a variety of medical equipment, including telemetry monitors, chest tubes, and infusion devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide optimal patient care

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric populations in an acute hospital setting
• Ability to provide references upon request
