Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a current CA license, ACLS and BLS certifications, and at least two years of recent high-acuity ICU experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the ICU of an acute care hospital
  • Patient ratio is typically 1:2
  • Float to similar units, including DSU, may be required
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
  • Every other weekend is required, but weekend expectations may increase to meet unit needs
  • Epic EMR is used and prior Epic experience is required
  • No on-call required
  • RNs must wear royal blue scrubs
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • RTO must be included at time of application; additional requests are likely to be denied
  • Block scheduling is at manager discretion
  • Free parking is available on site
  • All travelers may be required to float between facilities within the state
  • Travel pairs will not be considered

Requirements

  • Active California RN license required at time of application
  • Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
  • Minimum of 2 years' recent ICU experience required; high-acuity ICU experience highly preferred
  • References: Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty
  • Epic charting experience required
  • No pending licenses will be considered
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
