Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with strong telemetry and float experience for a Nursing Resource position in Washington.

Responsibilities

• Work within a hospital's Nursing Resource unit
• Floating required throughout ICU and lower acuity units, mainly PCU and ED overflow
• Predominantly cares for PCU-level patients in the ED overflow, covering respiratory failure, ESRD, AKI, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, post-op, CVA, ETOH, and overdose cases
• No craniotomy, major trauma, or major cardiothoracic patients assigned
• 16 ICU beds in the unit
• 12-hour day shifts with assignment to every other weekend
• Uses Epic EMR (required), Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing equipment
• Position may require floating to multiple hospitals within proximity
• Role may involve leading care in ED holding areas
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs in any color except camouflage are permitted; navy blue is preferred

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm and telemetry monitoring, ventilators, trachs, BiPAP, invasive line and drain management, IV titration, and ability to act as lead in ED holding
• Experience with Epic EMR required
