Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with strong telemetry and float experience for a Nursing Resource position in Washington.
Responsibilities
- Work within a hospital's Nursing Resource unit
- Floating required throughout ICU and lower acuity units, mainly PCU and ED overflow
- Predominantly cares for PCU-level patients in the ED overflow, covering respiratory failure, ESRD, AKI, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, post-op, CVA, ETOH, and overdose cases
- No craniotomy, major trauma, or major cardiothoracic patients assigned
- 16 ICU beds in the unit
- 12-hour day shifts with assignment to every other weekend
- Uses Epic EMR (required), Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing equipment
- Position may require floating to multiple hospitals within proximity
- Role may involve leading care in ED holding areas
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs in any color except camouflage are permitted; navy blue is preferred
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- CCRN certification preferred
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm and telemetry monitoring, ventilators, trachs, BiPAP, invasive line and drain management, IV titration, and ability to act as lead in ED holding
- Experience with Epic EMR required
