Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and minimum two years of recent specialty experience.
Details
- Work in a hospital medical/surgical telemetry unit
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Patient population includes adult Med/Surg and telemetry cases
- Use of telemetry monitoring equipment and Cerner EMR is required
Requirements
- Active DC RN license (standard or compact) in hand
- Minimum of two years' recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience in a US hospital
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification mandated by position
- Graduate from an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- BSN highly desired
- Experience with Cerner EMR required
- Must live at least 25 miles away from the facility to be eligible as a traveler
- Social Security number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and document findings
- Demonstrate ability to interpret and address patient needs across the lifespan
- Admission assessments must be completed within established timeframes
- Must submit two manager or supervisor references verifying recent experience
- Holiday coverage and floating may be required as directed by the department
- Dress code and scrub color details provided upon assignment
