Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner for a night shift assignment requiring RRT, NBRC, Epic, Level 1 Trauma, and advanced NICU/PICU experience.
Details
- Work in a hospital-based respiratory care department
- Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Care involves NICU and PICU patients with Level 3-4 experience required
- Level 1 Trauma setting
- EPIC EMR system experience required
- No local candidates accepted per 50-mile radius rule
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Minimum of 1 year relevant respiratory care experience
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Illinois RCP license required if applicable
- Experience working in Level 1 Trauma and advanced neonatal/pediatric critical care units
- Demonstrated proficiency with Epic charting required
Additional Information
- Duties include setting up, maintaining, and processing respiratory care equipment
- Performs assessments for ventilator and non-ventilator patients and provides timely clinical interventions
- Obtains and analyzes blood gases (arterial, venous, and capillary)
- Accurate EMR documentation of care provided using flow sheets and care plans
- May assist with respiratory care in the emergency room and inpatient units
- Must adhere to a maximum of 7 days requested time off during a 13-week contract
- Returning employees must have a 6-month break after one year of continuous assignment before returning
- No travel partners accepted for this assignment
- Must comply with onboarding deadlines including background check and drug screening
