Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 1.5 years of surgical nursing experience and a valid NJ or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the hospital Operating Room covering a variety of surgical specialties including general, laparoscopic, GYN, robotic, ortho/neuro, vascular, and pediatric surgeries
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• On-call required: 1 weekend per month (both Saturday and Sunday) and 2 additional 8-hour call shifts per week
• Scrubbing experience is highly preferred, but will consider circulators
• Experience with OR Manager (PICIS) and EPIC charting systems required
• Candidates will float within their skillset as needed
• Responsible for circulating and/or scrubbing in a high-acuity OR setting for a range of surgical procedures
• First time travelers are accepted
• Scrubs are provided for this role
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays during the contract
• Must adhere to attendance, callout, and contract completion policies
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Returning staff must have a 1 year separation from previous employment with the system to be eligible
• References required for consideration

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum of 1.5 years recent Operating Room RN experience required
• Experience in general, laparoscopic, GYN, robotic, ortho/neuro, vascular, and pediatric surgical cases
• Scrub experience highly preferred
• Completion of all required modules and EPIC training prior to start
