Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical Oncology Med/Surg position requiring stepdown experience, chemotherapy competency, and ONS/ONCC certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Surgical Oncology unit focused on both stepdown and medical-surgical care
- Cares for oncology and post-surgical patients, including those receiving chemotherapy
- Night shift position with 12-hour shifts, three nights per week
- Stepdown and med/surg experience are both required for this position
- Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, medications, and blood products, as well as monitoring patient responses and interventions
- Involves documentation of patient care, collaborating with physicians during procedures, and engaging with patients and families on care plans
- Position requires delegating tasks to support staff and making referrals as necessary
- Holiday coverage and rotating weekends may be required according to unit needs
- Return travelers may be subject to a 6-month separation after 26 weeks of continuous assignment before reapplying
Requirements
- Active RN license from Oklahoma or a compact multistate RN license (eNLC)
- Current certifications from AHA: BLS and ACLS
- ONS/ONCC certification required, may consider candidates with fundamental experience
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience, including care of chemo and oncology patients
- Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
