Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Surgical ICU position requiring at least 2 years of recent surgical ICU experience and a current RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 20-bed adult Surgical ICU within a hospital setting
- Care for ICU and post-surgical patients including trauma, GI surgery, ortho/neuro spine, transplant, vascular, ENT, and general surgery cases
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts
- Patients are adults with diverse, complex surgical needs
- Floating may be required to units of similar skill set
- Uses Epic charting system
- Responsibilities include managing critically ill surgical patients and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team
- Orientation offered on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate except where otherwise stated
- Professional and supportive work environment with exposure to a wide variety of surgical procedures
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required, per unit needs
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification is required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical ICU experience in a comparable facility (500+ beds)
- Previous travel assignments preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- Critical Care certification and trauma course preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
