Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring Level 1 experience and Oklahoma or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Care for obstetric patients with varying degrees of complexity
• Level 1 Labor & Delivery experience is required
• No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Responsible for delivering high-quality care to obstetric patients, including monitoring, triage, and interventions
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and delegates tasks to support staff
• Documents patient responses, assists in exams, performs minor diagnostic procedures, and administers medications
• Must be able to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and families
• 6-month separation is required after a 26-week contract extension before returning for another assignment

Requirements

• Active Oklahoma or multistate compact RN license
• Minimum of one year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advance Provider or NRP Instructor certification required
• Ability to organize, plan, and coordinate nursing care and effectively communicate
