Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg day shift position requiring at least 2 years of recent medical-surgical experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Day shift position working 7a-7p in a hospital medical-surgical setting
• Assignment is 13 weeks in length with 36 hours per week
• May be required to float across units or campuses to similar units
• Patient care includes post-operative, hip/knee, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery cases
• Experience with PCA and heparin is required
• Epic EMR is used and proficiency is required
• Every third weekend and holiday rotation is required
• No on-call requirement
• Responsibilities include caring for med/surg patients with a variety of post-surgical needs
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Must be willing to float to similar units as assigned
• Holiday coverage is required as part of a rotation
• Limit of one day request off is allowed between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current AHA or ARC BLS certification required
• Minimum of 24 months recent med/surg experience in a hospital or medical center setting is required
• Post-operative surgical nursing experience highly preferred
• PCA and heparin administration experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• One supervisory performance reference from within the past 24 months is preferred
