Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in California requiring circulating experience and current specialty certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Labor & Delivery unit at an acute care hospital
• Patient population includes laboring and postpartum mothers and newborns
• 3x12 hour day or night shifts, with hours running 07:00-19:30 or 19:00-07:30
• Scheduling may require weekend coverage beyond every other weekend according to unit needs
• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state as needed
• Epic EMR is used and prior experience is required
• Navy blue scrubs for RNs, L&D/OR scrubs are provided
• Must be able to circulate in Labor & Delivery cases
• Duties involve managing labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care in a high-volume setting
• Free parking is provided
• Travel pairs are not considered for this position
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission and time off post-submission is subject to denial
• Minimal to no requested time off is preferred to secure assignment

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Must have circulating experience in Labor & Delivery
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate; AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Experience in large hospital settings preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• First time travelers are not eligible for consideration
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last three years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Required documents include SSN, DOB, and current certifications
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot live within 50 miles of the facility
