Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an X-Ray Technologist with at least 2 years of experience to work weekend shifts and perform general radiology as well as OR and portable procedures.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a short-term acute care hospital
• Work in the X-Ray department with a daily caseload of approximately 20 cases per technologist
• Schedule consists of weekend shifts: Friday (8 hours, 7:00-15:30), Saturday and Sunday (14.5 hours each, 7:00-21:30)
• Must float within the service line and scope as needed
• Will perform general radiology, portable X-rays, fluoroscopy, and operating room procedures
• Interventional radiology skills such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and drainages are preferred
• EPIC charting system is used and experience is required
• Scrubs are provided
• Responsibilities include performing general diagnostic radiology exams, portable imaging, assisting with fluoroscopic procedures, and supporting OR cases
• Some interventional radiology procedures may be required as preferred skills
• Must be prepared to float within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals as per service line needs
• No on-call required
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off permitted during first week of orientation
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year after leaving before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work up to 18 months before a mandatory 3-month break is required
• Facial hair must allow for fit testing as part of onboarding requirements
• No local candidates will be accepted within a 75-mile radius

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an X-Ray Technologist
• Current and valid state license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
• Experience with portable X-ray, fluoroscopy, and OR procedures is required
• EPIC EMR experience is required
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• No pending state licenses will be accepted (must have valid license at submission for IL)
• First-time travelers are accepted
