Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of recent cardiac cath lab experience and active RCIS or ARRT-R certification.
Responsibilities
- Work setting is a hospital-based cardiac catheterization lab
- Four procedure rooms with an average daily volume of 15 cases
- Adult and geriatric patient population with a range of cardiac diagnoses including CAD, MI, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, transplant cases, ASD, PFO, VSD, pericardial effusions, and valvular diseases
- Procedures performed include PCI, CTO, PFO/ASD closure, coronary atherectomy, pericardiocentesis, TAVR, Mitraclip, Triclip, IABP placement, Impella, ECMO, and others
- Equipment used includes Impella console, IABP console, Shockwave, Boston Scientific IVUS/FFR/DFR, Acist, MedRad, Rotablator, Pneumbra, and a variety of coronary wires/stents/balloons
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- One weekend per month required, inclusive of on-call
- One on-call shift required per week
- Floating may be required within the hospital within the candidate’s clinical scope
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Perform a comprehensive range of interventional cardiology procedures and device placements
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary cardiac team
- Must be willing and able to float to other units within scope as needed
- Compliance requirements include references, licensure, and timely completion of pre-employment modules and labs
- Time off requests must be submitted with initial application and cannot be changed after offer
- Schedule requests or block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Return travelers must have a minimum 6-month gap; former staff must be gone for at least 12 months
- Scrub attire requirements will follow hospital policy
- No first-time travelers will be considered for this position
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent cath lab experience with RCIS certification or 3 years with ARRT-R certification
- Active MD or Compact License required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA only) required
- References from two recent supervisors or managers required
- Comfort with advanced cardiac interventional procedures and operation of specialized cath lab equipment
- Must be comfortable with all listed cardiac procedures and patient populations
- CPI certification may be required for compliance
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
