Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist for a neuro-focused VIR assignment requiring 2+ years of experience, ARRT certification, and neuro procedure competency.

Responsibilities

• Position based in a hospital interventional radiology department with significant neuro focus
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Required to work every other holiday
• Call rotation includes every third weekend and 1-2 nights per week
• Traveler will train onsite for 2 weeks and float to an additional nearby facility approximately two days per month
• Patient caseload includes diagnostic and interventional neurovascular and oncologic cases
• Procedures include cerebral angiography, angioplasty, embolization, stent placement, thrombolysis, vertebroplasty, biopsy, chemo embolization, Y-90 therapies, uterine artery embolization, and peripheral vascular interventions
• Primary responsibility is to assist neuro interventional radiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Role includes scrub duties for invasive neurovascular and oncologic procedures
• Must maintain competency with angiographic, fluoroscopic, ultrasound, and CT equipment
• Experience managing a large inventory of lab products is beneficial
• Will assist in procedures such as aneurysm coiling, avascular malformation interventions, stroke treatment, and tumor embolizations
• Pre-employment lab testing must be completed within 72 hours of signing
• Completion of computer-based training modules required before start
• Travelers are required to float first when needed
• Permanent address must be greater than 50 miles from the primary hospital and 100 miles from the central facility to be eligible
• Return staff must not have worked at any OhioHealth facility for at least 366 days prior to consideration

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
• Graduate of an accredited radiography program
• Current ARRT certification required
• ODH Ohio Radiologic License (pending license acceptable); license required if applicable
• Current BLS required and ACLS preferred
• Demonstrated neuro experience required
• Knowledge of angiographic fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, anatomy, radiation safety, and medical terminology
• Must be willing to assist in training permanent staff
