Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Stepdown RN with a SC or compact license for a night shift assignment requiring recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio is 1:4 on the unit
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
• Every other weekend and holiday rotations are required
• Uses Epic EMR; experience with Epic is preferred
• Floating within scope to similar units may be required
• Royal blue scrubs required
• All requested time off must be submitted with application; extended or holiday RTO may delay the process
• Free parking available for staff
• Completion of pre-employment modules is required prior to starting the assignment
• During hurricane season (June–November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown or acute care RN experience required
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Drivers license and SSN required for consideration
• No local candidates within a 60-mile radius accepted
• Previous employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted
