Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience and Level 1 trauma background for an evening shift contract.

Responsibilities

• Work in a non-invasive cardiology setting specializing in adult echocardiography
• Shifts are Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Performs transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echo procedures
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Contract length is 13 weeks
• No local travelers accepted due to a 50-mile radius rule
• Duties include conducting a variety of cardiac ultrasound exams, preparing patients, operating and maintaining lab equipment, and assisting physicians with transesophageal studies
• Expected to prepare equipment and explain procedures to patients and review clinical history
• May assist with IAC accreditation activities and quality processes
• Must wear any solid color scrub set, top and pants (purchased by employee)
• Team support and collaboration with quality coordinators and physicians
• Holiday coverage may be required following facility needs

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a cardiac sonographer
• Active TX license required if applicable
• BLS and either RCS or RDCS certification required
• Must be able to work independently and be self-sufficient
• Level 1 trauma experience is mandatory
• Two professional references required
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions granted
