Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a MO or compact license and strong telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a community hospital
• Care for post-cath patients in a 240-bed facility with a 16-bed ICU
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Weekend requirement of 8 shifts per 6-week schedule, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
• Floating required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR, with required pre-start modules or test out option
• Responsible for providing care to post-cath patients and performing telemetry monitoring
• Charge RN assignments and holiday shifts may be assigned as needed
• Scrub color is navy
• Free parking available
• Maximum of 7 days of approved time off during the contract
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No travel partners accepted
• Tenure policy requires 18 months with a 3-month break in service between assignments

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience, including at least 1 year in specialty within the last 12 months and no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
• Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required
• Proficiency in telemetry and on-unit telemetry monitoring
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
• Two recent references required: one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from the past year
• Pre-employment drug screen required
• Completion of all required onboarding modules prior to start
